Press RoomOhio Based Technology to Create Green Jobs for OhioansDUBLIN, OH – May 17, 2010 Today, FirmGreen, Inc. (FGI) announced a partnership with Guild Associates, Inc. (Guild) to export green energy technology to Brazil. Soon, the landfill gas (LFG) cleaning equipment that served as a backdrop for the event will create up to 135 green jobs for Ohioans and citizens of other states. The announcement followed a tour at Guild’s factory located in Dublin, Ohio, attended by John Carney, Dublin’s State Representative in Ohio House of Representatives’ 22nd District, Franklin County Commissioner Paula Brooks, FirmGreen CEO Steve Wilburn and Michael Mitariten, VP of Guild. Also present for the event was Manoel Antonio A. Avelino da Silva, Chairman of Gás Verde AS of Brazil, along with Gary W. Johnson, Executive VP of its sister company Arcadis US, Inc. State Representative Carney stated, “We are excited to be adding Ohio green collar jobs here in Dublin, Ohio given the commitment of this great city to economic development and job creation. Congratulations to Guild Associates and FirmGreen for their vision and innovative spirit in furthering Ohio’s quest to become the nation’s leader in Green Technology.” After the announcement, FirmGreen, Inc. and Gás Verde AS of Brazil signed an agreement under which FirmGreen will supply its patented CO2 Wash® equipment to Brazil. Guild will fabricate FirmGreen’s equipment at its Ohio factory, to be installed at the Novo Gramacho Landfill near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Manoel Antonio A. Avelino da Silva, Chairman of Gás Verde remarked, “We are very pleased to work with FirmGreen and Guild to supply the gás cleanup technology for this important landfill project at Novo Gramacho.” In addition to creating skilled jobs for Americans, use of the green energy technology will displace the use of non-renewable natural gas and will reduce annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions at the Brazilian landfill by an amount equivalent to taking almost 275,000 vehicles off the road. “This is a very important project and positions Guild and FirmGreen in the international marketplace. We are pleased that FirmGreen showed confidence in our ability to fabricate their CO2 Wash unit for Gas Verde‘s project. The combination of our proven nitrogen rejection system with FirmGreen’s technology is impressive,” said Roy Brown, President of Guild. FirmGreen obtains pipeline quality natural gas in an environmentally responsible manner by processing LFG with its CO2 Wash technology to a purity that meets or exceeds OEM standards for biomethane.
