Company Milestones

2002 - 2008
FirmGreen, Inc. was founded in 2002. Its first project was a small pilot plant at Rutgers University using its biogas purification technology. Having successfully demonstrated proof of concept, the company obtained patents and successfully scaled the technology in a demonstration plant.
2010 – 2012
FirmGreen commercializes its biogas purification technology, building the world’s largest biogas plant of its type at Novo Gramacho — one of the world’s largest landfills — located near Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.
2013 – 2014
The facility at Novo Gramacho is completed, commissioned and becomes operational.
2017 and Future
FirmGreen continues to build renewable energy projects around the world: biogas-to-fuel, large scale solar, and wind energy, combined with energy storage and smart grid management to maximize efficiency and system reliability.
